Jeff Mitchell

Jeff Mitchell is not from Huntington Beach, but he was my brother-in-law, and we live here, and that's good enough to qualify him to be an "HB Hero"! Jeff was a Sacramento County Sheriff who lived in El Dorado Hills, California, with his wife Crystal and son Jake (then just 6 years old). On October 27th, 2006, at 3:00am, Jeff was shot and killed with his own gun, right next to his squad car. The killer(s) have never been found.

Jeff was an incredible guy. You only needed to be at his memorial of over 5,000 family, friends and peace officers to believe it so. Jeff was only 38 years old when he passed. Such a tragedy, but hopefully his perpetrator(s) will be brought to justice one day soon.
